Jana Dumey Obituary
Dumey, Jana K.
April 23, 2025
69, of Patton, MO passed peacefully on April 23rd, 2025 at her home surrounded by family and friends. Jana left this world with loud music and happy conversations surrounding her. Everyone that knows Miss Jana would know that she wouldn't have it any other way, except maybe to have all her fur babies that she loved most in bed with her.
She was preceded from this life by her father and mother, Ray and Gloria Evans Dumey. She is impatiently waiting for her family left behind to join her which includes her husband John Preston, stepdaughter Sarah Preston, her brother David Dumey, her always faithful and loving cousins to include Steve Castleman and Penny Kurre (just to name two), and her many honorary adopted family which includes the Vuichard family. To include everyone that Jana left behind, like her many grandkids, nieces and nephew, and her Lions family, would take more than five pages at least. She impacted a vast quantity of people throughout her well-lived life with her vivacious and brutally honest wit. She taught many of us how to move through life more ferociously and confidently. She also taught us forgiveness and unconditional love. Jan never stood on stuffy formality or social norms, so wherever you stood with her in her final days wouldn't matter to her if you want to celebrate your love of her and she would tell you to come on over.
We will be celebrating Jan first at the Ford and Liley Funeral Home in Patton on Saturday May 3rd from 9am-12pm and after you will find everyone that loved her at the Patton Saddle Club loudly talking over one another and eating feel good food, two of her favorite things. We are celebrating all things Jan so please come casually dressed and no black, she would want everyone dressed for a fun party. Three of her top favorite things (besides her fur babies) were St. Louis Blues, St. Louis Cardinals, and Bud Light, all the best things that came from St. Louis. We would like to ask that anyone that wishes to honor her memory to not do it with flowers, but with a donation to the Patton Lions Club or a cancer society of your choice.
On a personal note, we know that there are many, many more people that helped Jan in her final days and influenced her during all her days. There are too many names to add, but I want each and everyone of you to know that we appreciate everything and Jan loved the H*** out of every single one of you. Thank you.
