James Jones Obituary

Mr. James "Jim" William Jones, age 63 of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on January 20, 1961 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Jess Willard and Sarah M. Gordon Jones. Raised in Madison on Central Avenue and attended Madison Consolidated Schools. Jim was united in marriage on January 19, 1991 at the First Assembly of God Church to Teresa Ann Powell. This happy union of 33 years was blessed to raise sons, Robbie, Josh and Chris. He was a member of the Madison Assembly of God Church and had served as a firefighter for Ryker's Ridge Volunteer Fire Department, No 2 Fire Company, and Hanover Volunteer Fire Company for 30 years. He worked for 19 years as a fork lift driver for Tower Manufacturing in downtown Madison and then for 18 years with Midwest Tube Mills. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and going to yard sales and Bargain Barns. He loved his dogs, Little Bit and Raz. He was a devoted husband, loving dad, peepaw and brother. A LOVING FAMILY
Jim will be missed by his loving his wife of 33 years, Teresa Ann Powell Jones of Madison, Indiana; his sons, Robbie Jones and his wife, Andrea of North Vernon, Indiana, and Josh Jones and his wife, Cecilia of Osgood, Indiana; his daughter in law, Kelsey Nicole Bruce Jones of Madison, Indiana; his grandchildren, Annabelle, Ryder, Kyrah, Harmonie, Beretta, Malchi, Ruger, and Ariella; his sisters, Thelma Perry of Hanover, Indiana, Donna Stephan and her husband, Rick of Madison, Indiana, Connie Sanders of Hanover, Indiana, and Karen Jones and her companion, Kevin Hysell of Hanover, Indiana; his brothers in law, Charles Sproessig of Lexington, Indiana, and Kenny Bowling of Madison, Indiana; his adopted mother in law, Charlotte Meadows of Madison, Indiana; his special caregiver, Gabrielle Leon of Madison, Indiana; his special nephew, Justin Peters of Madison, Indiana; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father Jess Willard Jones, who died April 2, 1992, his mother Sarah M. Gordon Jones who died July 10, 1998, his son Christopher William Jones who died November 6, 2023, his sister Glenna Sproessig who died February 22, 2024,and his brother in law and sisters in law, Richard "Leon" Perry who died August 26, 2012, Missy Powell, who died April 2, 2013, and Ronda Sue Bowling who died July 19, 2022.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 11:00 am, by Pastor Brynen Chitwood at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Sharon Hill Cemetery near Lexington, Indiana. TO JOIN THE SERVICE LIVE CLICK HERE
VISITATION
Friends may visit Tuesday, September 24, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana.
A FIREMAN'S SERVICE
