LOIS SUHR Obituary

Lois E. (Wilson) Suhr, 85, of Palmetto Fla., formerly of Wellsboro, passed away following a short illness on April 5, 2025, at The Communities at Indian Haven in Indiana, Pa. Born April 13, 1939, in Sayre, she was the daughter of Myron P. and Thelma M. (Root) Wilson. Her husband of more than 63 years, Frederick L. Suhr preceded her in death in 2021.
Lois was employed for many years at the A&P Tea Company, then retired from Boyer Kantz Associates, Forestry Consulting & Land Surveying after over 40 years of service. She was a writer and poet, leaving a legacy of her work. She was also a life-long student of the family genealogy accumulating years of research. She was very kind-hearted and never met a stranger anywhere she went. She volunteered at the Tidewell Hospice House in Ellenton, Fla. and was known to everyone as someone who made a difference. Lois enjoyed her life in Florida and will be especially missed by her dearest friend, Gay Oswandel.
Lois is survived by her only daughter and son-in-law, Connie L. (Suhr) and Anthony Boiano of Indiana, Pa.; grandson, Michael Boiano and wife, Sarah along with great-grandchildren, Anthony and Mia also of Indiana, Pa.; a half-sister, Monica (McAnallen) Penny, of Pennsylvania and Florida; sisters-in-law, Sylvia (Suhr) Daugherty of Palmetto, Fla. and Sylvia (Ward) Wilson of Wellsboro. She is also survived by step-granddaughter, Antonette (Kerry) Jones and family; and the family of Christine (Boiano) Baczynski all of Tarentum, Pa. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Stephen and Thomas (Dawn) Daugherty: Diane and David (Kristie) Suhr; Lori (Douglas) Smith and Joseph (Julie) Wilson; and Cynthia Boyce in addition to several cousins. She is also survived by many members of the McAnallen family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James and John Wilson; sisters, Sandra (Wilson) Tarszowicz and Nancy Wilson; and brother-in-law, Gordon Daugherty.
The family would like to thank The Communities at Indian Haven and 365 Hospice for their loving care. In addition, a special thank you to the many friends and extended family that have shown their love and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lois' name to the Green Free Library in Wellsboro or the Thrift Shop at the Family of God, United Methodist Church in Palmetto, Fla.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robinson-Lytle Shoemaker Funeral Home, Indiana, Pa. and the Tussey Mosher Funeral Home, Wellsboro. A memorial service will be held in Wellsboro at a later time at the convenience of the family.
