Frank Almade Obituary

Frank "Fred" Almade, 83, of Baldwin Borough, died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005. Mr. Almade was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a proud member of United Steel Workers Local 1843 and a 35-year employee of J&L Steel. He was a respected Little League manager and enthusiastic teacher of North Baldwin Youth for 18 years. He was a longtime resident of Vincentian Home, McCandless, where staff and Vincentian Sisters cared for him with compassion and affection. Beloved husband of 56 years to Mary V. (Habjan); loving father of the Rev. Frank D., pastor of St. John Vianney Parish, Pittsburgh, Fred (Kathy), of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Leonard (Mary), of Brandon, Fla., and Martin, at home; grandfather of Ashley, Andrew, Alicia, Kimberly, Nichole and Jacqueline; brother of Margaret (Robert) Lucas and the late Helen (the late Tony) Habjan and Stephen. Friends received from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at the SAVOLSKIS-WASIK-GLENN FUNERAL HOME INC., 3501 Main St., Munhall, (member Selected Independent Funeral Homes). Mass of Christian Burial at 7 p.m. Friday in St. Wendelin Church, 2720 Custer Ave., Carrick. Everyone please meet at the church. Private interment in St. Wendelin Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. John Vianney Parish Food Bank, 823 Climax St., Pittsburgh, PA 15210.
