Terry Tackett Obituary

Terry Lynn Tackett, 70, of Gilbertsville, (The Moors Hood) passed away on Monday May 06, 2024, at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville.

Terry (TBone) (Papaw) (T) was born March 26, 1954, in Evansville, Indiana. Terry worked in the coal mines for 14 years and retired from the Pipefitter Local 106 in Evansville. After relocating to Kentucky Lake, he worked at Moors Resort & Marina as a maintenance manager. Terry also worked for the Marshall County School system where he was awarded the Custodian of the Year Finalist!

Terry was a Navy Veteran in the Construction Battalion, better known as the Navy Seabees,where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and was a M-16 Rifle Sharpshooter. He enjoyed boating and cherished the Harley Davidson motorcycles that he owned throughout various times in his life. Terry was always the life of the party and was loved by many family and friends.

Terry is survived by his loving wife, Sharon of 25 years who never left his side during his recent illness; his stepdaughter, Melissa (Bryan) Memmer; and two grandsons, Dylan and Colton. His brothers and sisters, Dorothy Carol Burghard, Brenda (Bud) Hales, Robert (Brenda) Tackett, and Robin Tackett along with many nieces and nephews.Terry was preceded in seath by his parents, Robert Eslie Tackett, Sr and Dorothy Loretta (Fulton) Tackett.

There will be a Celebration of Life, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 141 Greenup Lane (Bobby's Barn) in Gilbertsville. Luncheon will be served by the Moors Hood Family.
