Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 20, 2024, at St. Bernard Catholic Church for Raymond "R.J." Broussard, Jr., 62, who passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 8:30am to 1:30 pm.
A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Marcel "Butch" Hebert at 11:30 on Thursday morning.
Fr. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Destinie Monnin and Danielle Lara Mejia.
Inurnment will follow at a later date at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Raymond, known to many as, "R.J." was born on October 11, 1961, in Arnaudville, Louisiana. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing, his truck, cruising on motorcycles, and he loved his country; he was patriotic. R.J. will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his father, Raymond Broussard Sr.; children, Dorsey Broussard, Maria Hayes (Brandon), and Gabrielle Broussard, all of Cecilia; grandchildren, Klaire Hayes, Hayden Leger, and Oaklynn Leger; and his siblings, Donna Laviolette, Deanna Guiberteau (Neal), and Deidre Delaune (Damon).
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rena Bergeron Broussard; brother-in-law, Oswald Laviolette; and his brothers, Gary and Joseph Broussard.
Pallbearers will be Dorsey Broussard, Taylem Breaux, Dylan Delaune, Devin Delaune, Damon Delaune, and Brandon Hayes.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
