Jon Faulkner

December 11, 1954 - July 5, 2024

Jon Faulkner, 69, of Fredericksburg, died on Friday, July 5, 2024, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

Jon was born in Seattle, WA, to Jon and Dorothy Faulkner. He was a proud graduate of Trinity High School in Louisville, KY. He was most proud of his degree in Ocean Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology.

He was passionate about community service and dedicated many years as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and the Fredericksburg Area Food Bank.

Jon is survived by his wife, Molly; his son, Jon Jay Faulkner; his stepson, Ian Shinberger; his sisters, Andrea Matule (Chuck), Kerry Keough (Ron), and Kelly Elson; his mother-in-law, Eleanor Blanton; and numerous other loving extended family.

He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Rob Elson.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Church of the Messiah Episcopal, 12201 Spotswood Furnace Road, Fredericksburg, VA, 22407.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity or Fredericksburg Area Food Bank.
