JEFFREY D. GROENEWOLD, 51, of Clinton, IA, died Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at his home.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. His graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Fulton Township Cemetery in Fulton, IL, with Pastor Steve Lingle officiating.
Jeff was born September 24, 1973, in Clinton, IA, to Karl J. and Ruth Ann (Kooi) Groenewold. He attended school in Morrison and Fulton, graduating from Morrison High School in 1992. Following high school, he pursued welding school in Tulsa, OK. On December 23, 2024, Jeff married Melinda Schlesener in Iowa City, IA. He built a career as a Union Millwright and Pipefitter with Local 2158 in East Moline, IL. Outside of work, Jeff was an avid car and truck enthusiast and also loved playing darts.
Survivors include his wife, Melinda; one step-son, Jon Schlesener of Clinton, IA; step-mother, Donna Groenewold of Morrison, IL; two brothers, Jerry Ammon of Dekalb, IL and Justin Groenewold of Clinton, IA; step-brother, Randall (Tonya) Stricker of Thomson, IL; sister-in-law, Roxanne Groenewold of Morrison, IL; his loving companion, Gizmo; nephew, Alex Groenewold and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jason Groenewold; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Connie Rice; best buddy, Donald Rice.
