Charles Daniel “Dan” Conroy, devoted husband of nearly seventy years to Laura and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away in Denver on March 21, 2026, at age 95, leaving behind a legacy of a good, long, humble life filled with profound love and infinite kindness.
Dan was born near Esbon, Kansas on August 21, 1930, to Thomas E. and Ruth Hyde Conroy. He spent his formative years in north central Kansas on a farm as part of a large, close-knit family before the family moved to and settled in Beloit, Kansas. Dan graduated from St. John’s High School in Beloit after which he proudly served for four years in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He spent most of his working life in Colorado in the oil field supply business, first on the western slope in Rangely and then in Denver. Dan was an avid sports fan and delighted in watching Denver Bronco football games and University of Kansas Jayhawk basketball games. He lived for many happy years with Laura in Littleton before they spent a few years at the Gardens at St. Elizabeth (GSE) in Denver. Prior to moving to GSE, Dan and Laura were active members of the St Jude Catholic Community in Lakewood.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents and six of his seven siblings. He is survived by his beloved wife, Laura, his four children: Dana, Elizabeth (Michael), Christine (John Paul) and Daniel (Vickie), as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored.
Dan’s life will be celebrated in a private service at a later date.
The family wants to extend special thanks to the staff at the Gardens at St. Elizabeth, Cambridge Care Center, and Brighton Hospice for their excellent care.
