Eloise Bolton Obituary

Eloise Laverne Bolton (Barthuly), of Arvada, Colorado, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, at the age of 95.

Eloise was born on August 10, 1930, in Paxico, Kansas, to the late George and Vivian Barthuly. She attended a one-room stone schoolhouse in Paxico, Kansas, and was valedictorian from her high school class. Eloise married the love of her life, Rolland Odell Bolton, on September 18, 1955, and they shared 68 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on December 17, 2023. Together they built a life centered on family, friends, faith, and community, living in Topeka, Kansas; Lawrence, Kansas; St. Joseph, Missouri, East Lansing, Michigan; and Arvada, Colorado.

Eloise was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved her family more than anything. She was known for her generosity, kindness, and the warm hospitality she showed to everyone around her. An excellent cook and baker, she loved hosting friends and family gatherings. She loved making cross-stitch Christmas ornaments for the kids and always made sure to make our special family birthday cake for everyone. She also enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, and hosting Bible study groups. Eloise formed friendships that lasted for decades and remained deeply involved in her church community at Peace Lutheran Church in Arvada.

Eloise is survived by her two children, Gregory Alan Bolton (wife, Annulette) and Leah Beth Bolton Stark; four grandchildren, Cameron George Stark (wife, Summer), Sarah Annulette Ferlin (husband, Aaron), Kathryn Evans Bolton (husband, Marc), and Ashley Elizabeth Floren (husband, Mike). She was also the proud great-grandmother of three great-grandchildren, Margaret Anne Ferlin ("Maisie"), William Beau Ferlin ("Beau"), and Emma Griffin Stark.

Eloise was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Rolland Odell Bolton, her parents, George and Vivian Barthuly, her brother, Winston Lynn Barthuly, and her sister, Marleen L. Bonar.

A memorial service will be held in Arvada, Colorado. Following the service, Eloise will be laid to rest at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
