Peggy Banka Obituary

Peggy Ann (Straw) Banka, born February 5, 1954, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026. Peggy was the cherished daughter of James (Jim) Straw and Helen Straw, and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and devotion touched all who knew her.

On November 15, 1975, Peggy married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Banka, who preceded her in death on January 8, 2025. Together, they built a loving home and raised two children: Brian (married to Erika) and Mari (partnered with Zach). Peggy adored her grandsons-Keegan, Jackson, Kaden, and Jordan-showering them with endless affection and pride in their accomplishments, big and small.

Family meant everything to Peggy. She was one of seven siblings: Diana McKinlay (married to Tom McKinlay), Randy Straw, Ken Straw (married to Sharla Straw), and Susan Straw-Guse, and was predeceased by Kathy Rothstein and Jeff Straw. Her fierce love and support were constants in her family's lives, and she was always the first to celebrate their triumphs or offer a caring shoulder in times of need.

Peggy's passion for life was evident in the ways she filled her days-with vibrant flowers in her garden, festive decorations for every holiday, and, most importantly, cherished moments spent with those she loved.

She always brought thoughtful gifts to all family events, big or small, or "just because." She had an absolute love of animals that brought her great joy throughout her life. Her generous spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering support leave a legacy that will continue to inspire and comfort her family and friends.

Peggy's memory will be forever treasured by all who knew her. Her love, kindness, and joy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
