George Freimann Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the peaceful passing of George Victor Freimann. On January 18, 2026, at the venerable age of 89, George was called home, embraced by the warmth of those who loved him, to rest in eternal peace with the Lord.

George lived a life marked by service, curiosity, and devotion to family. He proudly served in the United States Army before being recruited to work for the federal government, a career that reflected his deep sense of duty and commitment to his country. He deeply cherished the United States and everything it stands for. Becoming an American citizen was one of the great honors of his life, a commitment he embraced with pride, gratitude, and unwavering loyalty. He valued the freedoms, responsibilities, and opportunities that came with citizenship and held a profound love for this country and its ideals.

A lifelong learner and global citizen, he was born in Russia, educated in Germany, and came to America in 1958. He spoke three languages and had a passion for traveling the world, especially alongside his beloved wife, Barbara. Whether exploring new places, spending time in nature, or cheering on his favorite soccer and hockey teams, he approached life with enthusiasm and wonder.

Above all, George was a devoted husband, father, and friend. His faith guided his life, shaped his character, and sustained him through every season. He will be remembered for his wisdom, kindness, steady presence, and the love he shared so freely with those around him. His magnetic personality lit up the room, and his travels made him a captivating storyteller. George’s legacy is etched in the hearts of those he touched.

While our grief is deep, we find solace in the certainty of his eternal life and the promise of God’s perfect embrace. In honor of George’s remarkable life, and in lieu of flowers, we respectfully request that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his sons, Andre and Misha, and daughter-in-law Suzanne; his grandchildren, Caiden and Alexis; his daughter, Joy, and son-in-law, Luke; and his sisters, Nina and Valentina.
