Gordon Beesley Obituary

I am one of the many lives touched by Gordon. For the last 12 years, the talks we shared and the time we spent always brightened my day. He was a breath of fresh air above all the chaos. I remember asking him once what made him want to become a police officer. He told me he loved being of service to others that went way beyond the music he otherwise loved playing ... He was certainly special. Rest in peace my dear friend. You will always remain that breath of fresh air .. to me

I remember Gordon from Montesorri Nursery school in Mendham. My son, Brent, was his friend there and they played together. I'm heartbroken to have heard of this tragedy. He was such a "cool kid". Bev

What a tremendous loss - to the City, the Police Department, and most of all, Gordon´s close friends and family. Praying they receive strength for today and hope for tomorrow.

Gordon Beesley represented all that is good in the Arvada Police Department and the law enforcement community in general. Our prayers go out to the Beesley family and the men and women of the Arvada Police Department.

Sending many prayers of peace and strength for Gordon´s family and friends. I consider myself blessed to have worked with Gordon during my time with the Arvada Police Department. His life of dedicated service in helping those in Arvada and beyond embodies the spirit of the noble profession of policing. You´re a good man, Gordon Beesley. Rest well.

My sincere condolences and prayers to Officer Beesley´s immediate family, `our´ collective work family and the community he served. I worked with Gordon for approximately 15 years during our tenure there together. As a retired police dispatcher it was my honor to have him protect our citizens. Gordon was a gentleman and dedicated officer. My heart aches and I offer my prayers and thanks for your service.
May you Rest In Peace and know that you will be deeply missed.

I knew Gordon as a co worker, as a fellow SRO and as a friend. I also knew him as a parent as he was my daughter´s SRO. The community the national and the world has lost a truly fine and honorable man.

A officer taken way to soon. A officer who paid the ultimate price for us. Gordon you loved life more than life it's self. A man who loved his wife and kids to the moon and back 10 times over. A man who loved his pups, vacation and the band. A officer who gave 110 percent to his job and to Oberon Middle School kids and teachers. Gordon I'm glad to have worked with you 19 years and be your friend. You will greatly missed and touched hearts of many. Rest in peace my friend. Forever in our hearts and not forgotten.

Gordon was a friend and fellow officer. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. This world will be a smaller place without him.

Working with Gordon as an SRO and officer was pure inspiration. His dedicated service was always given with a warm smile and ready laugh. He never failed to brighten the day. My family is offering yours much heartfelt prayer. May God be specially present to you walking this difficult journey, and may he rest in God's Peace.

I worked with Gordon for many years. He was a kind man and was well liked by his peers. As an SRO, his students loved him. He will be missed by all the retirees and employees of the Arvada Police Deptment that knew him.

I didn´t know you personally, Gordon. But I did. We drove the same streets. Walked the same alleys and hallways. And we wore the same badge. Your good police work, and dedication to the community and youth of Arvada preceded you. I´m praying for your families, both blood and Blue. Lord, please grant them strength in this most difficult time, especially your wife and boys. And may God shine His perpetual Blue light upon your soul. Rest well, Officer Beesley.

Gordon exemplified humility, selflessness, and service for police officers everywhere. "It is not how he died that made him a hero, it is how he lived."

Condolences to all who knew Officer Beesley. Having worn the uniform for many years it is sad that lives are destroyed by the mere fact that one has dedicated his life to helping others. Officer Beesley will become a part of Gods Angels. Perhaps watching over us all. My prayers for his family in their time of grief.

As I retired from Arvada in 2000, I never had the privilege of working with Gordon. But I know the Arvada PD and the quality of those hired. And in that sense I knew Gordon. I know too well the numbness, and shock that is occurring with Gordon´s family, friends and within the police department.

By far the majority of peace officers are good people who give of themselves to serve their fellow man. Gordon Beesley was such a good man. He gave all for his community. There is no higher service that one can give; there is no higher calling.

I retired from the PD in 2002 and moved to the western slope. I did not know Gordon personally but as a brother in blue I "know" him. Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God. May Gods peace reign in your lives.

Gordon exemplified the utmost in selflessness and service of police officers everywhere. "It is not how he died that makes him a hero, it is how he lived."

May the concern and sympathy of those who care help you all through this difficult time. Good Man gone to soon. RIP
