James Locke Obituary

In Loving Memory of James Locke

May 9, 1975 – April 12, 2026

James Locke passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty, laughter, and a life lived with passion.

Born on May 9, 1975, James was the beloved son of Warrick and Roberta Locke, who preceded him in death. Though he was not married and had no children of his own, James built a family through the deep and meaningful relationships he cultivated throughout his life-and through the unconditional love he had for his beloved cat, Oscar, who he considered his child.

He is survived by his Uncle Sam and extended family across Texas and Colorado, as well as a close-knit circle of chosen family and friends who meant the world to him.

James proudly entered the United States Marine Corps in 1997, where he rose to the rank of Sergeant and dedicated many years of active service to his country. He served with the 3666th Support Maintenance Company, 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, demonstrating unwavering commitment, strength, and a deep sense of duty throughout his military career.

Known as the "coolest uncle," James shared a special bond with Ashlee, Rowan, Sam, Josh, Norah, and Ethan, bringing joy, humor, and unforgettable memories into their lives. He was also a brother-at-heart to Marty, Dustin, Chris, and Steven-friendships built on trust, loyalty, and years of shared experiences.

James had a deep love for cars, music, and motorcycles-though not necessarily in that order. Whether he was tinkering with his latest project or riding his beautiful bike to catch a sunset, he found peace and happiness in the simple moments.

He had a spirit for storytelling and connecting with people through the sentimental or funny things he had experienced throughout his life. Often, you heard those stories on multiple occasions, each time him retelling them as if it were the first. He was also a champion of eye-rolling dad jokes, never missing an opportunity to deliver one at just the right (or wrong) moment!

He was always willing to lend a hand, drop everything for a friend, and stand fiercely by those he loved.

James will be remembered for his generous spirit, his unwavering loyalty, and the way he made people feel-valued, supported, and never alone.

Services in Texas and Colorado will be announced at a later date
