John Patrick Farrell was born February 5, 1938 in Newton, Iowa to Francis Leo Farrell and Mary Elizabeth Nolan. Shortly they moved to Stuart, Iowa. John graduated from Stuart High School and attended St Louis University for one year then transferred to Iowa University from where he graduated with a degree in Business.
He went to work for the state of Iowan Human Resources. After a year he was employed by the Internal Revenue Service. He was stationed in Hayes, Kansas, Springfield, Illinois, Dallas, Texas and finally Denver. Colorado. Here he met his future wife, Irma Jean Drahota and they were married on June 23, 1979 at St. Bernadette Church.
He passed away February 17, 2026. They had one daughter, Jennifer Marie.
John is survived by his wife, daughter Jennifer (Ryan) Daberkow and grandchildren Kayleigh and Nolan. He is also survived by three nephews, Tom, John, and Phillip Farrell.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Tuesday, April 13, 2026 beginning at 10:30AM followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00AM both at Saint Bernadette Catholic Church, 7240 West 12th Avenue, Denver, Colorado. A reception will follow at the church immediately following the Funeral Mass.
