Send FlowersLawrence James Hidalgo, aged 74, passed away April 2, 2026 at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
He was born on September 22, 1951, in Denver to the late Max and Rita Hidalgo.
A man of strong work ethic and deep creativity, Larry—or “Dogman” to those who knew him best—was a devoted friend and talented artist. His career was defined by his expertise in modern furniture design, becoming a successful sales rep and later joining the trade of installation. Larry remained a prolific creator throughout his life, using his art and imagination to carry him through his final days. He was best known for his unique ability to connect with people through humor, a warm smile, and an uncanny sense of timing. Larry’s unwavering support and gift for listening made a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Liz Hidalgo, and his two grandchildren, Sophia and Joaquin Sempert, who were the lights of his life; brother Dogger (Becky) Hidalgo and sister Cathy Hidalgo. We extend our heartfelt sympathies to all who mourn Larry’s passing.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 25th at 2:00pm at Horan and McConaty, 3020 Federal Blvd. Denver, CO 80211.
