Michael William Bann, a devoted father, grandfather, and lifelong man of faith, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, at the age of 89. Born in Denver, Colorado, on September 13, 1936, he was the younger child of Gerald William Bann and Dorothy Marie Shraut.
After graduating from South High School, Michael moved to St. Louis to study at a Jesuit seminary, where he spent time discerning the priesthood before returning home. His life took a different turn when he met Patricia (Pat) Bann, the love of his life. They married on August 19, 1967, and later returned to Denver to raise their four children Michelle, Jim, Cathy, and Michael eventually settling into his childhood home on Columbine Street.
Michael worked as an engineer for Sandstrand and then became a nurse, careers that reflected both his curiosity and his steady, practical nature. Outside of work, he loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and golfing. His years at Wellshire Golf Course were among his favorites, and he often shared stories from his time working there, including collecting golf balls from the lake, a memory that always made him smile.
Michael’s devotion to his Catholic faith shaped every part of his life. For more than 45 years, he served quietly and faithfully at St. Vincent de Paul as a Eucharistic Minister, lector, and member of the choir. His gentle spirit and willingness to serve were deeply felt by all who knew him.
Michael lived a life grounded in faith, family, and the simple joys he loved most. His stories, his laughter, and his love will be remembered always.
