Michelle "Mickie" Rae Archuleta (née Morgan), age 68, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, in
Thornton, Colorado. Born on October 4, 1957 in Maryland to Francis "Bob" and Josephine "Josie" Morgan, Mickie lived a life defined by love, connection, and style.
Mickie's artistic spirit and vibrant personality began at young age. After spending many memorable seasons on the eastern shores in her youth, Mickie continued to embrace life with humor, warmth, and an unmistakable zest for living as she moved west. Her first marriage led her to Southern California, where she became a loving mother to daughter, Alexandra, and son, Charles "Chas". She went on to build a career in retail fashion, a role that perfectly reflected her natural eye for design and her love of helping others feel confident and seen.
After relocating to Colorado, Mickie remarried and built a life with Richard "Rich" Archuleta, who became a steady rock for her as she navigated sorrows and celebrated triumphs over the years. She later dedicated meaningful time to supporting Birthday Smiles, a non-profit organization founded by her close friend, Rise Justice, demonstrating her generosity and desire to bring happiness to others. She valued connection above all else and had a gift for making people feel included, appreciated, and loved.
Whether through fashion, art, or the spaces she cultivated around her, Mickie expressed herself with imagination and heart. She had a remarkable talent for visual arts and found deep joy in gardening, artwork, and shopping-creating vibrant and beautiful spaces in her home and garden, often inspiring others to share in her passion. Her aesthetic was a reflection of her personality-colorful, welcoming, and full of life. She had a boisterous personality and loved to entertain, her sense of humor bringing riotous laughter to her and family and friends.
Mickie is survived by her loving husband, Rich Archuleta; her son, Chas Oclassen (Tam); her stepchildren, Bryan Archuleta (Annamaria) and Carissa Mendez; and her grandchildren, Ivy and Isaac Oclassen, Antonio and Dimitri Archuleta, Taya Apps and her husband Brandon along with their son Finnley, and Melina Mendez. She is also survived by her mother, Josie Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bob Morgan; and her beloved daughter, Alexandra Oclassen.
Mickie's legacy lives on through the laughter she shared, the beauty she created, and the deep connections she nurtured throughout her life. She will be remembered for her free spirit, her humor, and the genuine love she extended to family, friends, and all who crossed her path.
A celebration of life will be hosted in Mickie's honor on Friday, June 5, 2026 at Merritt Wellness in Denver, Colorado at 11AM with a reception to follow. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend and share their memories.
