Nancy Lynn (Sears) Back

Nancy Lynn (Sears) Back, born October 13, 1958, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, after a brief battle with stage 4 cancer, diagnosed just one month earlier.

Nancy was a devoted wife to Jerry Back of Berthoud, Colorado, and a beloved mother to Jessica Back James of Houston, Texas. She was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Nancy truly never met a stranger and was loved for her friendly demeanor, thoughtful words, and genuine care for others.

Nancy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved tending to her garden and caring for her flowers, spending time fishing, and traveling to new places. Whether she was nurturing her plants, enjoying time outdoors, or exploring somewhere new, she found happiness in the beauty around her. Nancy was also known for taking care of those around her and quietly supporting numerous charities. Her generosity and compassion touched many lives.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Ulysses Sears; her mother, Maggie (Ward) Matson; her stepfather, Paul Matson; and her brother, Hubert Sears.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Back; her daughter, Jessica Back James, and Jessica's wife, Jas Back James; her brothers Ralph Sears and his wife Margaret Sears, Larry Sears and his wife Jude Sears, and Carl Sears and his wife Tammy Sears; her sisters Shirley Golden and Lendia Reed and her husband John Reed; her sister-in-law Cheryl Sears, wife of the late Hubert Sears; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Nancy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. A celebration of Nancy's life will be held later this year.
