Patricia "Pitsy" Ann Teets

Patricia ("Pitsy") Ann Teets passed peacefully on December 29, 2023 in her Los Angeles home. She was 86.
The daughter of prominent Denver surgeon Kenneth Charles Sawyer, Sr. and Elizabeth (Betty) McAndrew Sawyer, Pitsy attended Graland Country Day School, East High School, and the University of Colorado at Boulder (Kappa Kappa Gamma). Her brothers Kenneth Charles Sawyer, Jr. and Robert Bruce Sawyer, preceded her in death.
Pitsy was married on August 26, 1961 to Edward Archer Teets (deceased Nov. 16, 2017) in Denver, Colorado. The couple moved to Los Angeles, California, where Edward pursued a career in film, and Pitsy was a teacher at the Johnson Thomas Dye school and later a Jungian psychologist for clients ranging from the incarcerated to families of the Hollywood elite. Sometimes they were one and the same.
Pitsy enjoyed current events, public service, travel, and the arts. As an epicurean, she studied with Julia Child and Jacques Pepin. Her favorite pastime was entertaining friends in her Bel-Air home and later at her favorite Los Angeles eateries, where the sizzling conversation was served tartar, and LA people-watching was an entertaining diversion.
Pitsy was known for her inquiring mind, sense of humor, warmth, generosity, joy, and indomitable spirit.
She will be missed and is survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. A service is scheduled for 10:30AM at St John's Cathedral on Monday August 26th.
An ever generous soul, in Pitsy's memory the family's request that people who loved her simply do something kind for someone they know needs a helping hand.
