Theodore Hansis Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Theodore William Hansis (Ted to his family and friends) on December 14, 2025. He was born on August 17, 1959 in Pomona, CA as a twin to Charles (Chuck) and Jean Hansis. In his early years he enjoyed the ocean and beaches of California where his oldest sister Mary would often take them. He moved to Littleton, Colorado with his parents in 1973 and then to Longmont, CO one year later, where he spent his middle and high school years. Ted did a variety of jobs in grocery and construction before settling on being an arborist. Later he had his own business called Ted's Tree Service, cutting and trimming trees in the front-range area.

Ted has two daughters, Lilly and Natalie that he loved more than anything. He liked doing arts and crafts with them and creating things out of discarded items. Ted was always active and enjoyed many outdoor activities and sports such as skiing, ice-skating and roller-skating. He especially loved water and spent many summers swimming and tubing in Lyons. He also enjoyed music & concerts and having a good time with his family and friends. Ted had a big heart and loved young people. He helped foster families in Longmont by mentoring and spending time with foster kids.

Ted is survived by his daughter, Natalie Hansis, his brothers, Randall Hansis (Roma), Mark Hansis, Jon Hansis (Laura), Jeff Hansis and his two sisters, Mary Griffin (James) and Cathy Gabbert (Dave) and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lilly Hansis, partners, Ellen Terry and Tammy Fairbanks, his parents Charles and Jean Hansis and his brother, Charles Jr. (Jim) Hansis.
