William "Bill" Schmausser Jr Obituary

William “Bill” F. Schmausser, Jr. passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 89, after a long and fulfilling life.

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Bill was a proud graduate of East High School. He went on to attend Colorado State University, where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity and earned a degree in economics. Bill built a successful career in banking and finance, developing a lifelong interest in the financial markets—an interest he proudly passed on to his daughter.

A devoted sports fan, Bill was particularly passionate about University of Colorado Buffaloes football. A season ticket holder for more than 50 years, he was deeply involved in the CU football community and proudly served as President of the Denver Buff Club. He also enjoyed cheering on the Colorado Rockies and rarely missed an opportunity to attend a game.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Annie Bement; son-in-law Chris Bement; son, Bill Schmausser; and many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Helen Schmausser, and his sisters, Jean Foutch and Mary Lou Avery.

Bill will be dearly missed by all who knew him, including his beloved Golden Retriever grandpups, who brought him so much joy.

Celebration of life later.
