G. Audrey Apodaca, age 69, passed away on May 30, 2025, at Hospice of the Valley in Glendale, Arizona. She was born on February 13, 1956, in Brush, Colorado, to Ezequiel and Tona Chacon, who preceded her in death.
Audrey is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Herman Apodaca; her children, Joshua Apodaca and Danielle (Toshi) Shibano; and her beloved granddaughters, Mirai, Eimi, and Miyuki Shibano. She is also survived by her siblings: sisters Betty Salazar, Darlene (Rudy) Ortiz, Beverly (John) Griego; and brothers Ezequiel (Barbara) Chacon and Robert Chacon.
Raised in the Denver area, Audrey graduated from North High School in 1974. She married Herman on May 22, 1976, and together they built a life rooted in love and family. Herman was by her side, holding her hand as she passed—just as he had held her hand since the day they met.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her sister Darlene Ortiz, nieces Brenda Vasquez and Francis Jimenez, and the nurses at Hospice of the Valley for their loving care and support.
A visitation will be held on June 26 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with funeral services taking place on June 27 at Newcomer’s Funeral Home. Audrey will be laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
