Geraldine "Geri" Sularz Obituary

Geraldine Lee Sularz passed away on 3/17/2026. She was 77 years old. Geri was born on January 20th, 1949, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Marion Pupeza and William Browne II. Geri was the oldest of five siblings: Geri Sularz, Chris Stiles, Dorrie Parker, Bill Browne III, Janine Browne-Franklin. She was raised in Minnesota and graduated from Columbia Heights High School. Geri attended college at the University of Minnesota and Metropolitan State College of Denver. She was a creative soul and loved music and the arts. Geri was a proud second generation Ukrainian American and grew up in a tight knit Ukrainian community. She loved animals and had several of her own rescue pets. Over the years she adopted dogs, cats, and birds. She was a gentle soul who once said that she would not even kill a house spider and she would call her husband Jim to set it free.

Geri was a proud liberal democrat who cared deeply about social justice issues including social equity and inclusion, and she cared deeply about the many current injustices being done to our immigrant community and to our country. She was a passionate opponent of the ongoing illegal war in Ukraine. Geri was also a proud ally to the LGBTQ community.

Geri married her husband Jim Sularz on 08/29/1970 and they were married for over 55 years. They raised two children: Daughter- Carlie Jaye Sularz and Daughter - Natalie Christina Sularz. Geri loved her family and devoted her life to raising her children.

She loved to cook and garden and grow Orchids, and her house was meticulously and beautifully decorated. Geri had a flair for fashion and was always the go-to person for advice about what to wear. She loved to knit and craft many different things. Geri was one of the most loving, generous, and caring humans ever. She was always willing to lend a hand or help in any way she could. Her sense of humor was unique and wonderful, and she had a special ability to make you smile and laugh. Geri loved to travel, explore, and learn new things. She loved going to museums. She loved going to Estes Park and spending time in a cabin with her family and fur-babies. Geri loved going to karaoke and movies and walking around the park with her husband Jim.

Geri, we love you and miss you and may your beautiful gentle soul shine eternally in Heaven.

Till we meet again.

Geri is survived by her husband Jim Sularz, her daughter Carlie Jaye Sularz, daughter Natalie Christina Sularz, sister Chris Stiles, sister Janine Browne-Franklin, nieces and nephews Emily Stiles, Jeremy Stiles, Michael Noeker, Cindy Rowe, Joseph Franklin, Jackie Franklin, Alex Browne, Tony Browne.
