Jaime Azuero was born on January 3, 1937, in Fusagasugá, Colombia, and lived a life defined by devotion, dignity, and deep love for his family. A formidable man with a gentle heart, Jaime carried himself with pride, warmth, and a steady presence that made those around him feel protected and seen.
He shared nearly 65 beautiful years with the love of his life, Elizabeth Azuero Reyes. Their partnership was one of loyalty, companionship, and enduring affection, a love so strong that even death could not diminish it. Elizabeth passed on November 10, 2023, and Jaime carried her memory with him always, looking forward to the day they would be reunited.
Together, Jaime and Elizabeth raised four children: Maria Claudia, Elizabeth, James Francisco, and Richard Ernesto, who were the great pride of his life. His legacy lives on through them, as well as through his 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of his strength, values, and love. Jaime is also survived by his brother, Guillermo Azuero.
Jaime was a man who cared deeply for others. He gave love freely and received it fully in return, especially in the last decade of his life, when he was surrounded by the devoted care of his family and the compassionate staff at the Life Care Center of Aurora. He was well loved, well tended, and never alone.
On January 30, 2026, Jaime’s ashes will be laid to rest beside Elizabeth, his beloved wife, in their final resting place Horan And McConaty together again for eternity. His life was one of meaning, family, and quiet strength, and his memory will continue to guide and comfort all who knew and loved him.
