James C. Callahan, age 82, passed away on August 30, 2025. He was born on December 3, 1942.
James attended Manual High School and pursued some college studies before dedicating his career to public service. He worked with the Division of Wildlife for 33 years and later served Jefferson County for 17 years as a Land Acquisition Specialist.
A proud member of the Masonic Lodge, Denver Consistory, and Past Grand Master of the Masons of Colorado, James devoted much of his life to service, leadership, and community.
Beyond his professional and fraternal commitments, James was a man of many passions. He enjoyed skiing, skydiving, reading, and playing musical instruments, always embracing life with energy and curiosity.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Antoinette Callahan; his daughter, Lara Fischer, and son-in-law, Daniel Fischer; granddaughter, Antoinette Faul; granddaughter, Bethany Faul; and greatgrandchildren, Jayde, Kyndall, and Shawn Mullen. He was preceded in death by his son, Ian Callahan.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Horan & McConaty. A service will follow on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Horan & McConaty, with interment at 11 AM at Mount Olivet Cemetery. A reception will follow at the family home.
James will be remembered for his dedication, adventurous spirit, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
