Joanne Wendelin Waite, 86, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, went home to be with the Lord on April 8, 2026. She was born in Penacook, New Hampshire, on October 19, 1939, to George H. and Pauline Dunstane Wendelin.

She graduated from Penacook High School in 1957 and attended Plymouth Teachers' College. Joanne worked as a receptionist for a law firm in Concord, as well as for Sprague Electric. She met Gilbert (Gil) Campbell Waite, and they were married on October 2, 1965. They began their married life in Massachusetts and went on to live in Florida, Michigan, California, and Colorado before Gil went home to be with the Lord in March 2005.

As a family, they faithfully served the Lord in the churches where they were members; Joanne was especially involved in hospitality and social committees. A devoted homemaker, Joanne was an excellent seamstress and a wonderful cook. She enjoyed growing African violets, baking bread, sewing, and knitting, and often led ladies' Bible studies in her home. Joanne and Gil raised a number of well-loved dogs: Tiffany, Ruffles, Sadie, and Bonnie.

She is survived by her daughter, Bethany Waite; her son, Bradford (Stephanie) Waite; granddaughters Rachel, Madison, and Mackenzie Waite; and grandson Justin Waite. She is also survived by her sister, Martha (Robert) Marshall; nieces Diane (Gary) White, Kim (Dennis) Hile, and Carolyn (Gurn) Wagner; nephews John B. Nay, Jr., Eric (Larkin) Marshall, Evan (Jessica) Marshall, and Robert (Kim) Marshall; as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 40 years, Gilbert; her parents, George and Pauline; her sister, Sarah Nay; and an infant brother, Donald.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 17, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., and Monday, April 20, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., at Ponderosa Valley Funeral Services, 10470 South Progress Way, Suite 106, Parker, Colorado 80134. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at Parker Hills Bible Fellowship, 7137 Parker Hills Ct., Parker, Colorado 80134, with a reception immediately following.
