Kenneth Claire Moore, passed into the presence of the Lord, February 5, 2026, at the age of 87. Kenneth was born to Kenneth P. and Dorothy J. Moore, January 20, 1939, in Casper Wyoming. He spent his childhood and teenage years growing up in Casper attending Natrona County schools. Kenneth graduated "Class of 57" from Natrona County High School, in Casper. While in high school, he was very active in The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and consistent with the work and perseverance it takes, he earned scouting's highest honor by becoming an Eagle Scout and tapped out into the "Order of The Arrow." After high school, Kenneth attended Casper College and the University of Utah for a short time. In 1960, he moved to Colorado to pursue an apprenticeship in carpentry, eventually becoming a Journeyman Carpenter. Shortly after Moving to Colorado, Kenneth met Helen Kucera and they were married September of 1961 in Denver Colorado. Their first child, Lisa, was born in 1962. Shortly after they moved to Ft Collins, their second child, Keith, was born in Ft Collins in 1963. In 1967 they moved to a small acreage in the Ft. Lupton – Hudson area. Here their next three children, Julia (1969) Mirriah (1973) and Joshua (1977) were born. He and Helen, continued to reside and raise their five children in the greater Hudson area. Kenneth had an innate aptitude for building and mechanical work. Over the following 15 or so years, after becoming a journeyman carpenter, to provide for his family, Kenneth worked in that trade while doing weekend farm work for the farmer he and Helen purchased their acreage. Kenneth always had a good aptitude in math and chemistry. In the late 70's Kenneth made a career change to the oil and gas industry working as a crude oil analyst for Core Laboratories until his retirement. Given the passion Kenneth had for the BSA from his youth, he gave a great deal of his time in the mid 70's, to being a Scout Master for troop 240 in Hudson CO. He was a leader who instilled the values contained in the Scout Oath and Motto. He stressed the value of a good work ethic to both scouts and his own children. He spent a lot of time leading and camping with scouts. He taught them camping stewardship skills and orienteering by going into the mountains for the annual February Klondike Derby competitions. He helped many scouts learn the value of hard work by having booths and events at the annual scout shows that included competing in the Pinewood Derby. Being raised by his parents in the Presbyterian Church, gave Kenneth a fundamental grounding, that led him in the mid 70's to pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. His commitment to Jesus Christ is evident in his Bible that is well worn. In 1982, Kenneth began building their log home and completed it in 1983. It was a monumental project, and he applied tremendous effort into properly building it. They resided in the log home for over 40 years. Additionally, Kenneth was a bit of a teaser, especially with his children and others close to him. He was always willing to help neighbors with just about anything they might need. He was very handy and quite innovative in solving problems and fixing things. Above all he modeled integrity throughout his life, being truthful and honest with those around him, and doing what he said he would do, when he made a commitment to another.
Kenneth enjoyed the Bible, music (especially anything with a trumpet), trains (real and model), outdoor activities, Chess, Rummy Cube, the game of RISK, practical jokes, and truck stop food.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Helen, of 65 years of Ft Lupton CO, His five children, Lisa of Ft Lupton CO, Keith (Jana) of Melba ID, Juli (Louis) Zimbleman of Roggen CO, Mirriah (Troy) Cantrell of Roggen CO, Joshua (Annette) Moore of Grand Junction CO, nine grandchildren, Erin, Scott, Whitnee, Hannah (Keith), Natasha and Nicholas (Juli), Sawyer, Gunnar, Marin (Mirriah), four great grandsons Jaggar, Kyroh, Atlas, Remmy, a great granddaughter Scottie, all of Idaho, and his sister Dorothy (Dolly) Jane Moore, of Littleton CO.
