Maryann Gillespie, 82 of Northglenn Colorado, passed away on October 16th, 2025 in her home surrounded by family.
Maryann was born in Toledo, Ohio to Robert and Elenor Bieniek on January 2nd, 1943. She was the oldest of five children: Nancy, John Ginger and Chuck.
Maryann was married to William (Bill) Gillespie on October 5th, 1963. Once married, she relocated to Colorado where she and Bill built a beautiful life for themselves and their three children: Eric Gillespie, Michael Gillespie and Rebecca Gillespie.
Maryann was a devout Catholic. She served in the Parish Office at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for 28 years, where she cherished the work she did and the lifelong friendships she made. After leaving, she then went on to work as the office manager at Marion Plaza, part of the Denver Archdiocese Senior Low Income Housing program. Maryann enjoyed actively participating in her community from baking cupcakes for Christmas sales at the Stonehocker house as part of the Northglenn Historic Commission to planting her designated flowerbed every Spring at Danahy Park as a part of the Northglenn Garden Club. She participated in the Widows group, trips to Blackhawk, bunko, bingo and a variety of local events put on by the Senior Center. She enjoyed traveling with her family to places such as Egypt, Jamaica, Haiti and more. Maryann will be greatly missed by all of those who loved her.
Maryann is survived by her brother, Chuck Bieniek, her 5 grandchildren, Christina Gillespie, Daniel Cowan (Jessie), Harley Cowan (Sean), Damien Hubbard (Sarah), and Brice Gillespie. She has 7 great grandchildren, Americus & Justice, Zayden & Odin, Ethan, and Aleah & Damien Jr. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elenor, husband, William (Bill), children, Eric, Mike and Becky, and siblings, Nancy, John and Ginger.
A rosary will be held for Maryann at Horan and McConaty at 9998 Grant St, Thornton, Co on Monday October 27th from 5-7pm. Her funeral will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary at 11385 Grant Dr, Northglenn, Co on Tuesday October 28th at 11am with a luncheon after mass from 12-2.
She will be taken to her final resting place with her husband, Bill, at Ft. Logan Cemetery at 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, Co on Thursday October 30th at 11am.
