Roland Froid

R oland Eugene Froid, 91, of Longmont, Colorado passed away Monday January 26, 2026, at his residence in Longmont, Colorado.

Roland was born June 5, 1934, in Fort Lupton, Colorado to Melvin Wilbur and Verma May (Lockwood) Froid. He was the eldest son of 4 boys.

He graduated from Fort Lupton High School in 1952. On December 5, 1955, Roland married his childhood sweetheart Charlotte Rochelle Roberts at the First Baptist Church in Fort Lupton. They shared 67 wonderful years of marriage before Charlotte's passing in 2022.

Roland worked for Dellenbaugh Chevrolet, also known as Purifoy Chevrolet, for many years in Fort Lupton, as a parts manager. He and his wife Charlotte managed the Fort Lupton Food Lockers for several years after the passing of Charlotte's parents. Roland received his Real Estate license and worked for J.L. Sears Realty. He worked for Weld County Government Assessor's office in Greeley, Colorado for 18 years and then retired.

He was a member of the first Baptist Church in Fort Lupton and sang in the Choir. He also attended Life Fellowship Church in Fredrick, Colorado. Roland and his wife belonged to the "Good Times" camping club for 10 years. Roland was a lifetime member in the Fort Lupton Lions Club Chapter. He held many offices and positions during his 45-year membership. He was a boy scout leader in the Fort Lupton area.

After retirement, Roland enjoyed camping and traveling with his wife Charlotte to various states and Novia Scotia. He enjoyed fishing when time allowed. He loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends, and neighbors, He loved to read, do word search puzzles, draw and watch Television.

He is survived by one brother Lowell Froid, Brighton, Colorado, four children, Allen (Carol) Froid, Brighton, Colorado, Brian (Cheryl) Froid, Greeley, Co, Connie (John) Drake, Fort Lupton, Colorado, Jeanette (Chris) Stone, Castroville, Texas, 10 grandchildren, Allen Jr, Carrie, Genevieve, Kathryn, Corey, Christina, Sean, Robert, Samuel, Grace, 10 great grandchildren, Draven, Connall, James, John, David, Aurelia, Madelyn, Evelyn, Ryan, Lano, nieces, nephews and numerous cousins.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Dale and Donald, 1 granddaughter Genevieve and grandson Corey.
