Sherwin "Brad" Darrell Straus, 92, of Denver, Colorado, died on January 21, 2026. Brad was born on November 25, 1933, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Roy and Irene Straus. He attended East High School and the University of Wisconsin, both in Madison. Brad served in the U.S. military during the Korean Conflict and later worked in furniture sales and design.
Brad married Annette Gjersteup in 1970 and had two children, Sean Straus (52) and Anika Williams (50). Together they enjoyed traveling, being in nature and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Brad is survived by his wife, Annette Straus; his sister Liz Gangstead; his son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Alena Straus; his daughter and son-in-law, Anika and Travis Williams; and his grandchildren, Sophie and Sebastian Straus and Tierney and Callan Williams.
Brad will always be remembered for his humor and his love of life. A celebration of life will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, January 27, at Horan & McConaty, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd, Denver CO 80246. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seniors' Resource Center at seniorsresourcecenter.org in Brad's name.
