Steve Arellano Obituary

Estevan “Steve” Arellano, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Went peacefully with the Lord on January 12, 2026, in Westminster, Colorado. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on December 15, 1929, in Pueblo, Colorado. Steve’s life was a testament to faith, hard work, and humor.

Steve graduated from Pueblo Central High School class of 1950. During his time at Pueblo Central, he would qualify for the Colorado State Wrestling Championship. On February 18th, 1951, he would marry the love of his life Victoria Rodriguez. From there he dedicated 40 years of his life to Wonderbread which eventually led him to relocate to Denver. He was known for his relentless work ethic and commitment to his craft. He would retire from Wonderbread with respect and admiration from his colleagues.

Guided by his devotion to the Lord, Steve lived a life of deep purpose rooted in the Gospel of Jesus and took every opportunity to encouraged others to know Jesus. His devotion reflected in his spiritual beliefs, but also in his active engagement with his church community. He proudly served as Secretary, Treasurer, and Deacon. In those positions his gentle demeanor and kind spirit would guide many within the community. Steve shared his faith across southern Colorado which led him to a radio ministry at KDZA in Pueblo where he shared a singing ministry every Sunday from 1957-1959. In 2001, he was recognized for his contributions at the first annual Christian Day of Elders.

Friends and family alike cherished his unwavering support and lighthearted spirit. Family gatherings would often be filled with laughter from his jokes. The type of laughter that is formed through bonds and a shared love of humor.

Steve would also be drafted to serve his country. In 1951, he was drafted to the Army during the Korean War. He would complete his basic training but was honorably discharged before he could see any combat. The discipline instilled upon him during his training would stay with him throughout his life.

Steve would live a beautiful life with his equally beautiful wife Victoria. For 74 years, together they built a close-knit family with their five children. Victor Arellano (Amy), Alfonso Arellano (Grace), Mary Tafoya (Damian), Theresa Guerrero, and Bernadine Arellano (Leroy). The legacy of love continues through five generations, including 23 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren, and 39 great-great grandchildren. Many of whom will carry on the legacy and values that Steve instilled upon them.

Steve now joins his parents, Felipe and Eluteria Arellano, along with his siblings; Genero Arellano, Margaret Aguirre, Lupe Ramirez, John Arellano, Charles Arellano, Dave Arellano, Jose (Tito) Arellano, Luis (Wimpy) Arellano, and Mary Ramirez. Along with two great grandsons, Brian Szakmary and Moses F. Guerrero in eternal rest.
