William Kershow Jr. Obituary

William Voris Kershow Jr. (Bill) passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026.

Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, remembered for his intelligence, curiosity, and lifelong love of building and creating. He and his wife Nannette spent approximately seven years living at Windcrest Senior Living in Independent Living before he later moved into Assisted Living, where he was deeply appreciative of the exceptional care he received and formed meaningful connections with the caregivers and community he truly enjoyed.

He earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toledo. Early in his career, Bill worked on submarines as a civilian with the Navy Electronics Laboratory. He went on to work for Bendix Aerospace and contributed his expertise onsite at NASA. Later, he joined Foxboro Company in Massachusetts, where he worked with computers and process systems.

Bill had a passion for aviation and held a private pilot’s license. Over the course of ten years, he meticulously built an experimental aircraft, beginning in his basement and later moving to his garage. Neighbors would gather as he brought the fuselage into the front yard to test the engine, creating memorable moments for all who witnessed his dedication and ingenuity. He eventually moved the aircraft to a hangar, completed its assembly, and fulfilled his dream of flying it.

His talents extended well beyond aviation. Bill restored a Volkswagen Beetle from a rusted shell into a show-worthy vehicle that earned awards at auto shows. He also rebuilt a Honda motorcycle and spent countless hours in his basement and garage, always working with his hands and his tools.

Bill also shared a special family accomplishment with his wife Nann and his son Bill III, building a beautiful lake home on Thompson Lake, Maine. The project took a few years, but the result was a cherished summer time “Camp” where the family spent many happy times together. With a dock on the lake and a motorboat ready to go, Bill especially enjoyed time out on the water with his family.

Above all, Bill was a wonderful and devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nannette S. Kershow; his daughter, Kristen Henry; his son, William V. Kershow III and his wife, Leanne Kershow; and his daughter, Lisa Parnanen. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and great-grandfather to three, with one more on the way.

Throughout their lives together, Bill and Nannette made homes in Toledo OH, San Diego CA, Foxborough MA, Ann Arbor MI, and Milford MA. For the past seven years, they lived in Highlands Ranch CO, near their daughter Kristen.

Bill will be remembered for his quiet steadiness, sense of humor, inventive spirit, and deep love for his family.
